First up, Scattermusic? What the eff? Scattermusic are a collection of Melbournites who rock an unforgettable party every week without fail at their stomping ground, The Espy.
Throwing free parties every week and releasing free tunes on their blog all in the name of pushing the new music that they love.
The Scatterblog is synonymous with bass-heavy, party tunes that genre hop like no other. The label already has 8 releases including one from Brazillian superstar Edu K and has even spearheaded and made popular several new genres including Moombahton and Witch House. For an idea of what to expect on their tour (or to just steal some free music) check out the Scatterblog.
In Jamaica they had these things called 'soundsystems' which were trucks filled with DJ and MC gear and a shitload of speakers. These soundsystems would travel around blasting their thousands of fans with exclusively produced tracks. The Scatter boys are adopting this party-startin-technique, taking a party van up and down the east coast stopping off in every deserving city and blowing the proverbial roof off of every onlooker’s proverbial house.
The Generic Collective and us have the honour of hosting the Sydney leg of this never-before-seen tour at Sydney's bassiest venue, the Civic Underground. What better venue to house 4 turntables, 2 mixers, 4 DJs and 1 MC?
The Generic DJs and Mike Who? will be spinning some plates for those who are more keen on checking out the most attractive DJs in Australia rather than the most musically talented ones (the Scatterbros).
